Meet our team
Moira Lye
Manager
With aspirations as a child of one day becoming Prime Minister, it is no wonder Moira is now our leader. A background in industrial relations and a range of senior positions in Health over the past 10 years has given her a multitude of wisdom to draw upon.
A little known fact about Moira is that she is world champion at holding the longest handstands at the bottom of the pool. Besides pursuing this extreme sport, Moira’s biggest passion is raising her 5 wonderful children. They are lovingly described as being beautiful, busy and loud. Moira’s biggest goals in life are for herself and her family to be well.
Strawberries and Cream lollies are one of Moira’s biggest weaknesses, renovating is how she likes to keep busy on the weekends and her favourite movie of all time is 'Joy Luck Club'. If Moira were to give one piece of advice it would be to 'sit back and enjoy the moment'.
Moira’s favourite quote is “I know God would not give me more than l can handle – l just wish he wouldn’t trust me so much!” Mother Theresa
Elizabeth Harris
Assistant Manager
Elizabeth has worked in a range of areas over many years within the Health Directorate, providing her with an incredible corporate knowledge.
Elizabeth is a proud mum of 4 grown boys and wishes for all of her family to be close by, well and safe. She loves travelling, reading, going to the movies and spending time with her family and friends. Elizabeth’s favourite movie of all time is 'You've Got Mail'. Elizabeth hopes to one day see the city of New York.
Elizabeth's favourite quote is "A smile costs nothing but gives much. It enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever."
Kim Philpot
Fundraising Manager
Born in Melbourne and educated in Canberra, Kim has worked in both public and private sectors. This includes being the owner and director of her own child care centres.
Kim describes her family as being 'Gorgeous!'. Her biggest goal in life is to raise happy healthy kids and her second biggest goal is to raise a happy healthy husband. She enjoys attending her children’s numerous sporting activities and loves to spend a Sunday afternoon having lunch with her family and friends. Her favourite piece of advice is 'be kind to your mum'.
Kim describes herself as being unorganised, disorganised and organised (there seems to be a theme here) and if she were to be an animal she would be Dory from Finding Nemo. Her favourite movie of all time is 'Steel Magnolias'.
Kim’s favourite quote is “One day a rooster, next day a feather duster.” Kim's 93 year old Nan, Evie
Louise McDonald
Finance Officer
If there is a problem to be solved, Louise will have it done in no time! Born in NSW and educated in the ACT, Louise has a background in both private enterprise and the public service.
Not many would know that she once stood on a soap box on Melrose drive and spoke about Melrose place for an hour for a radio prize. For those that may be curious, she did win and says the embarrassment was well worth the VIP night out that resulted.
Louise enjoys beach walking, netball and pushbike riding with the kids. She describes her family as being large, loud and lovely. Louise’s biggest goal in life is to be happy, healthy and wise and she can never say no to a good white wine. When Louise was a child all she wanted to be when she grew up was tall. Both Louise and Elizabeth share their love for the movie ‘Love Actually’.
Louise’s favourite saying is “Be careful what you wish for”.
Caitlin Silec
Fundraising Officer
Caitlin is currently studying Marketing at university and comes from private enterprise where she worked in the advertising department of a local paper.
Recently married, Caitlin lives with her loving husband. Due to the restrictions on living in a rented apartment, Caitlin is not allowed to own a 'real pet'. She has therefore recently committed to owning an orchid. However, one day she dreams of having a puppy!
The craziest thing Caitlin has ever done involved a major culture shock when she travelled around China for a month. She has a major weakness for chocolate and loves nothing more than lying in the afternoon sun with a magazine and long sunday sleep ins. If Caitlin could give one piece of advice it would be 'take advantage of every moment you have with the people you love'.
Caitlin's favourite quote is "Never, never, never, never give up." Winston Churchill
