Things looked very pink this October at the Canberra Hospital. The entire month aimed to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer patients in Australia through research, support services and prevention programs. For more information please visit pinkribbonday.com.au.
During October, the Canberra Hospital ran a Think Pink! raffle with the prizes including :
- $250 Coles Myer gift voucher
- $100 Bunnings Voucher
- Dulux Jelly Bean tin with toy dog
- Assorted ‘Pink’ hampers
Over $2,050 was raised through the raffle! Thank you to everyone who bought tickets and congratulations to the lucky winners!
A special Pink Ribbon Morning Tea was held on the 18th October in the 14A Clinic. There were guest speakers from both ACT Breastscreen and Bosom Buddies, sharing information about breast cancer. All who attended brought with them a plate of morning tea to share. There was a definite pink theme to the plates that were brought in!
To help inspire everyone to get involved, Dulux and Bunnings donated their time and supplies to paint certain areas in the hospital pink.
All money raised throughout October went towards supporting patients with breast cancer. A huge thank you to everyone who was involved!
