The CRCS Masquerade Ball

The CRCS Masquerade Ball

The Capital Region Cancer Services held it's second, annual masquerade ball at the Old Parliament House on the 25th July.

The grand venue provided the perfect setting for guests to dress up, don a mask and donate generously to charity. By the end of the evening over $12,500 was raised to go towards the ACT Eden Monaro Cancer Support group, who provide financial assistance and emotional support to cancer patients and their families.

On the Agenda for the evening was a 3 course meal by Ginger Catering, live music provided by the band 'Putty' and a very successful auction. The ball also provided the ideal platform to launch Dry July 2011. This gave everybody the opportunity to participate in the annual event that challenges people to go one month without drinking alcohol in order to raise money through sponsorship from family, friends and colleagues. Thanks to the overwhelming support from this year's participants, over $80,000 has been raised to go towards helping cancer patients in the Canberra Hospital.

Keep an eye out for next year's CRCS Ball where we hope to raise even more funds for those living with cancer. Thank you to everybody who attended the event, as well as to the many people that participated in Dry July 2011!

A big thank you also to Amanda Fintan and Ben Houston from Amanda Fintan Photography who donated their services on the night.
